There are many more browsers than have any right to exist. This means that regardless of your interest, there are more than two browsers to choose from, depending on your operating system.

To find your current browser version, pull down the Help menu and click About. On AOL I think you are stuck with whatever browser came with whatever version of AOL you have installed. Moving to a newer version of AOL may or may not get you a newer browser depending on your version of Windows and the phase of the moon.

Internet Explorer 6     The latest with the most bells and whistles. This version comes with Windows XP and can be installed on Windows 9x, NT 4, and Windows 2000.
  5.5     This version is still supported which means Microsoft is still writing patches to plug the security holes and it can be installed on Windows 95 or newer.
Netscape 7     Version 7 is based on the open source Mosaic browser b ut adds Netscape mail, AOL IM, etc. Works well and fixes bugs in Version 6.x.
